In Ramadhan 1447 (2026), Make A Smile worked with Murshidaat Organization, Mama Ibado and Joined as One Relief (JAOR) to feed 1,701 families in seven areas of Kenya and in Somalia. KES 7,571,365 came in through M-Pesa, bank and partner channels from 691 individual donors and 2,507 donation transactions. The figures below are consolidated from the M-Pesa ledger, bank statements and field disbursement memos.
Families were identified through needs assessments with local NGOs, community leaders and religious institutions, focusing on low-income families, displaced people, the elderly and orphans.
Food was bought in bulk from local wholesalers and markets to stretch every shilling. Packing and delivery were handled by the core team and volunteers.
