The MASO Waqf Fund

A gift that is never spent, and never stops giving

When you give to the MASO Waqf Fund, your money becomes a permanent endowment. We never spend it. Instead it is invested, and only the profit is used to fund our programmes, every year, for as long as the fund exists.

  1. Your gift becomes capitalIt is held in the Waqf Fund, kept separate from all other money, and recorded in your name.
  2. The capital is invested halalOnly in Shariah-compliant, low-risk options, such as Islamic bank deposits, sukuk and certified halal investment funds. No interest (riba), no prohibited businesses. The board approves every placement.
  3. The profit funds programmesThe profit it earns goes to education, orphan care, Ramadhan food and emergency relief. The capital stays invested, so it keeps earning.
  4. You see the reportEach year we publish the capital, where it is invested, the profit earned and exactly where the profit went.

Minimum gift: KES 10,000. Gifts are pooled, and the fund is invested each time KES 100,000 has collected.

Investments carry some risk, and profit varies from year to year; we choose the most secure Shariah-compliant options available. Sadaqah jariyah: the reward continues as long as the benefit continues, in shaa Allah.
